EHC Accreditation
Oxfordshire
- To provide the EHC service, the pharmacy must be listed on the Oxfordshire Council Dynamic Approved Provider List (DAPL) and have applied to provide the EHC service.
- All pharmacists involved in the service must have a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check.
- All pharmacists providing the service must have read and signed the PGD.
- Pharmacists providing the service must meet the training requirements which are as follows:
- Pharmacists can self-certify by meeting the standards required in the CPPE Declaration of Competence for Community Pharmacy Services – Emergency Contraception. This must be completed at least every two years and your CPD should support your on-going competence in this field.
- Attendance at face-to-face training is no longer compulsory, however you must:
- Complete the EHC PGD in Oxfordshire online training which can be found here.
- Complete OSCB Level 1 Safeguarding training
Berkshire
- To provide the EHC service, the pharmacy must hold a signed contract with the local Public Health team.
- All pharmacists involved in the service must have a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check.
- All pharmacists providing the service must have read and signed the PGD.
- Pharmacists providing the service must meet the training requirements which are as follows:
- Pharmacists can self-certify by meeting the standards required in the CPPE Declaration of Competence for Community Pharmacy Services – Emergency Contraception. This must be completed at least every three years and your CPD should support your on-going competence in this field.
- There is no requirement to attend face-to face training.
