Acorn House, Milton Keynes, MK9 3HP
Event id 46246
This workshop will:
- develop your competence and confidence to deal with a safeguarding issue should one arise in the course of your practice
- provide some of the knowledge base for the assessment
Two local experts will be supporting this event:
Andrea Piggott
The Designated Nurse, Safeguarding Children and Looked after Children is the strategic professional lead on all aspects of the health service contribution to safeguarding children and looked after children across the MKCCG area, which includes all health providers. Andrea provides advice, support and supervision to the Named Safeguarding Professionals in the provider services and works closely and contributes to the work of Milton Keynes safeguarding children’s board.
Amanda Derbyshire
The Primary Care Specialist Safeguarding Nurse, who works with the Named GP and commissioners to develop and improve the quality of safeguarding arrangements locally and takes a strategic professional lead on all aspects of GPs contribution to safeguarding children across the CCG area.
The local experts will ensure you understand the policies, legislation and procedures in your location. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss a number of safeguarding issues with fellow pharmacy professionals and hear how others have handled situations in the past, which will leave you far better placed to complete the assessment afterwards.
