New Pilot: Hearing Care – TympaHealth Platform
Frimley ICB is looking to transform how hearing care is delivered in Frimley by making services more accessible and reducing the pressure on secondary care.
What’s Happening
We’re exploring a new pilot that will test the use of the TympaHealth Platform – an innovative device that allows trained pharmacy teams to:
- Carry out hearing screening tests
- Perform digital otoscopy (taking clear images of the ear canal and eardrum)
- Provide safe earwax removal
This means patients with minor ear or hearing concerns can get quick, high-quality care closer to home, without needing to wait for an ENT referral.
Why This Matters
- Faster access for patients with hearing or ear problems
- Better use of NHS resources – freeing up specialist ENT services for complex cases
- More convenient and community-based support
- Opportunities for pharmacies and primary care to play a bigger role in hearing health
Get Involved
We’re inviting expressions of interest (EOIs) from community pharmacies in E. Berkshire who’d like to take part in this exciting pilot. We only have devices for EIGHT pharmacies, so we will have a selection criteria. If successful, the pilot could pave the way for wider rollout across Frimley.
Must be available for TympaHealth platform training on 24th and 25th November 2025, 9am-5pm. Venue: Stoke Place, Buckinghamshire, Stoke Grn, Slough SL2 4HT. https://www.stokeplace.co.uk/
If you’d like to learn more or express your interest in being part of this initiative, please see the below, and/or click here for the EOI form.
