Update your NHS website and DoS profiles at the same time
From this week, you can update your contact information and opening times on the NHS Profile Manager, this also updates your UEC Directory of Services (DoS) profiles.
GP practices and NHS 111 rely on up to date DoS information to make referrals to
pharmacies.
Keeping your opening times up to date will ensure that patients are not referred to your
pharmacy for Pharmacy First, including for urgent medicines, when your pharmacy is closed.
Great benefits for your pharmacy
When you use the NHS Profile Manager, you:
- have access at any time to keep your information accurate
- can meet your quarterly contractual obligations, to keep your NHS website and DoS profiles up to date
- can save time, as you no longer need to contact your DoS lead to update your DoS profiles separately
Unplanned closures
The NHS Profile Manager allows you to update your opening information during any unplanned closures without having to contact your DoS lead.
This will help you to reduce clinical risk and avoid a poor patient experience.
What you need to do now
Register for the NHS Profile Manager to create an account. Once registered:
- You need to request permission from the NHS website service desk to edit your DSP profiles.
- To do this select ‘Add profiles’, then on the next screen select ‘Edit profiles’ (ignore options for ‘respond to comments’, this is not currently available for DSPs).
- You will receive an email to confirm that your profiles have been added and that editing permission has been granted.
- Log into the NHS Profile Manager and select ‘Manage your profiles’.
- Confirm your DSP’s full contact details, your standard opening times and Easter Sunday opening times for 2025.
Please note: your standard opening times must be your contractual opening times, including both core and supplementary hours, when a pharmacist must be on duty at your pharmacy.
