Genomics Primer for Pharmacy

27th March 2023 09.00-17.30

Building 100, University of Southampton Highfield Campus, SO17 1BJ

Free one day Genomics Primer course for pharmacy staff at the University of Southampton.

This course aims to give participants a grounding in the technology and application of genomic science, enabling them to appreciate the findings of genomic clinical reports and their impact on treatment, prognostics and family screening, and in particular the use of pharmacogenomics to facilitate drug choice, dose adjustment, and avoidance of adverse drug reactions.

This one-day course is sponsored by Health Education England South East, with attendance costs underwritten, and so free of charge to attendees. Registration is open to pharmacy staff across the HEE South East region, with a limited number of places available.

Lunch is not provided, however there are facilities onsite to buy food and drink.  There is some pay and display parking available, or the site is accessible by a 20 min bus ride from Southampton Central railway station (https://www.southampton.ac.uk/transport/index.page).

It is expected that demand will be greater than places available and therefore applications from those who can indicate how the knowledge gained from the course will be put into practice and/or disseminated will be prioritised.

If you would like to apply to join the course, please fill in the form here: Registration form – Genomics Primer4Pharmacy
