The CPPE Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) Programme is a fantastic opportunity for pharmacy technicians to build advanced skills, increase confidence and play a key role in supporting safe, high‑quality patient care.
This fully funded programme helps pharmacy technicians to:
- Develop competence and confidence as a safe and effective final accuracy checker
- Strengthen leadership skills to support and guide dispensary colleagues
- Enhance their contribution to the wider healthcare team, improving patient‑facing service
Who can apply?
The programme is open to pharmacy technicians who:
- are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- work in pharmacy premises in England
- meet the ACPT programme entry requirements
What the programme involves
The ACPT programme is a 3–12 month blended‑learning course combining self‑directed study, e‑learning and workplace‑based activities. It covers:
- Professional and legal frameworks
- Leadership and communication
- Good practice in final accuracy checking and error prevention
- Labelling and packaging requirements
- Calculations
Learners complete a 1,000‑item checking log, with a mid‑point professional discussion and a final assessment. Throughout the programme, pharmacy‑technician tutors and a workplace education supervisor provide ongoing support.
