Exciting Opportunity for Community Pharmacists in the Thames Valley

Thames Valley Integrated Care Board has secured Teach and Treat funding to support community pharmacists in achieving their Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification. As part of this initiative, we are offering fully funded Designated Prescribing Practitioners (DPPs) to supervise the 90 hours of IP training.

We understand that access to DPPs can be a challenge for community pharmacists. The Teach and Treat programme provides structured, hands-on training through community pharmacy hub sites, supported by trained DPPs and mentors who offer supervision and guidance throughout the process.

This programme is designed to build a sustainable pipeline of independent prescribers, enhancing healthcare delivery in our local system and improving access to IPs and DPPs in community pharmacy.
